B-Schools adopt different methodologies to select candidates. Different institutes assign different weightages to test score, academic record, GD/ PI score, and profile of the candidate and work experience (if any).
However, for most B-schools, the first criteria for short listing suitable candidates is the score obtained in entrance tests like CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, SNAP Test, IIFT Test etc. Every year, elite B-schools in the country shortlist candidates 10-15 times the number of seats in the institute for the second round. Some institutes consider the total scores, while others also take into account sectional scores, in deciding the cutoff for the GD/PI round.
The given list of cut offs will give you a brief idea of the expected cut off percentiles/ scores in popular MBA colleges in India. It will help you to select the best B-school to target according to your performance in the entrance test.
