Q. I got 99.8 percentile. Will I get JBIMS in CAP?

A. Not on Open or All India because JBIMS MMS has been closing at or next to 99.99 for those quotas. EWS and OBC are closed lower than Open but still in the high 99s. Candidates first match your category to the CAP 2026 cutoff PDF to verify the cutoff.

Q. What MAH CET cutoff do I need for SIMSREE?

A. In CAP 2026 Round 1, SIMSREE closed at about 99.96 AI and 99.80 GOPENS. For MS General candidates, even a high percentile such as 99.8 does not guarantee a seat.

Q. Is the MAH CET cut off based on raw marks or percentile?

A. The MAH CET cut-off is given as a percentile. CAP prints the merit score as a percentile and a merit number. For example, 99.96 percentile is not the same as 99.96 marks out of 200.

Q. I am an All India/OMS candidate. Are the cut-offs higher for me?

A. Yes, the MAH CET cut-off for ALL India/OMS candidates is usually higher than other categories. The AI close is typically above MS Open at the same college. AI seats can also use CAT, CMAT, XAT, ATMA, MAT, or GMAT scores if that year’s CAP notice lists them.

Q. I have a 90–93 percentile. Which colleges can I expect?

A. 90–93 percentile will not clear Open or AI cutoff at top institutes such as JBIMS, SIMSREE, Welingkar or PUMBA. Those CAP 2026 Round 1 lines were in the high 99s. Your actual college list still depends on category and MS vs AI. Treat 90–93 as a mid-tier CAP range and check the last GOPENS row for each institute on your option form.

Q. If I take a seat in CAP Round 1, can I still wait for a better college in Round 2?

A. Only if you choose Float. Freeze locks the seat and drops you from later CAP rounds.
