Established in 1998 ,The Department of Management Studies ,IIT Roorkee uses the CAT score to make a preliminary selection of candidates for group discussion and interview. These shortlisted candidates are invited for a written analysis, group discussion and interview to gauge their overall suitability. The cutoff figures for its flagship MBA program is based on the CAT percentile score but final admission is determined by CAT score,academic performance, GD/ PI score and experience. The IIT Roorkee MBA cut off is separately applicable each year and this year also, it is expected to be similar. Doing well in the second phase is necessary to get a seat at after qualifying the IIT Roorkee cutoff's figures.
DoMS considers not only the standardized entrance test scores but the overall profile of the candidate including academic background,work experience, gender diversity etc. while giving a call to the shortlisted candidates.A good academic and professional work-ex portfolio can increase the candidates selection chance exponentially.You may be invited for the second phase of the admission process i.e.Group Discussion and Personal Interview depending on the cutoff figures and a composite score will be calculated for the final merit list. The final weightage given to various factors is:
CAT Percentile - 65%; Group Discussion - 10%; Interview - 20%; Work Experience - 5%
