IMPORTANT NOTE:-There has been a change in the Selection Process in for students seeking admission for courses offered at Mumbai campus.
TISS Management Aptitude Test (TISS-MAT)
Candidates interested in studying courses MA (HRM & LR) or MA (ODCL) offered at the Mumbai Campus will have to appear for an additional entrance test called TISS Management Aptitude Test (TISS-MAT).
- This test (TISS-MAT) will be for 45 marks, and it will be for a total of 30 minutes.
- Marking Scheme- 1 mark for every correct answer marked and 0.25 marks will be deducted for an incorrect answer option.
- There is no sectional cut-off mentioned for this entrance.

Three Major Objectives of TISS-MAT :-
- The Comprehension section has been incorporated to assess the student’s proficiency to understand management literature.
- The Management Data Interpretation section checks a student’s ability to understand data related to different domains like economy, business and market functions
- The Business Awareness section checks a students’ awareness related to business sector and other functional areas of management.
Final Score composition will be as follows:-
TISS-MAT Score will be aggregated with the score of Pre Interview Test and Personal Interview.

Students need to note that TISS-MAT scores will be added to the Personal Interview Score.
Shortlisted candidates have to qualify the Pre-Interview Test and Personal Interview. The candidates should be aware that there can be some variations as regards to in the PIT/PI process for different programmes. Another point that TISS-NET aspirants have to keep in mind is that they need to prepare for Group Discussions (GD) or Aptitude Test (AT) as well. Group discussion and Aptitude Test is a part of the Pre-Interview Test. Here the general awareness of candidates is checked.
Important Note:-
- Students should note that for final selection, the Pre-Interview Test and Personal Interview scores will be aggregated in 70:30 ratio.
- Students who are applying for MA (HRM&LR) and MA (ODCL) programmes then TISS-MAT, Pre-Interview Test and Personal Interview scores will be aggregated in 30:40:30 ratio for final compilation.
Let us have a quick look at a few things you should know about the TISSNET 2022:
- The 2022 computer based TISSNET will be conducted in the third week of February 2022 at different centers across the country
- The online application for admissions will be available from the third week of November 2021.
- Students should note that last date for online form application or registration is in the third week of January 2022
- Unlike previous years’ paper, TISSNET 2022 will not have negative marking for any program including HRM.
- There are no sectional time-limits in TISSNET 2022.
- Only short-listed candidates (based on the TISSNET score) will receive call letters for the second round (PIT and PI) that will be held in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Guwahati.
- For all the programmes across various TISS Campuses, the PIT will be conducted in the form of a Written Test.
- To get the score card students have to visit the TISS website and login and download their score.
The details of the sections for the TISSNET 2022 exam pattern are:
- The General Awareness and Social Issues section contain 40 questions which can be of moderate to difficult type. If you are zealous and enthusiastic to gather all the latest information about what is happening around the world, this section will be a cakewalk for you. Be an avid reader to update your knowledge on significant Politico- Social events and topics ranging from Culture, Sports, Famous Personalities and Places, History, Geography, Theatre, etc.
- The 30 questions from Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning section will test you on your analytical and numerical ability. The broad areas covered in this section include mathematical concepts like prime numbers, composite numbers, ratio, percentage, averages, time and work, etc. Apart from this, there are questions based on graphical data, family tree, analogy, conclusions based on given premises, etc. To ace your preparation in this section, all you need to do is revise your basic concepts and the ability to analyze the given data or information.
- A total of 30 questions constitute the English Proficiency section. Reading Comprehension, Sentence Formation, Error Spotting, Fill in the blanks with appropriate words, Antonyms. Synonyms, One Word Substitution are some of the areas covered. You should have proper knowledge and understanding of the language, vocabulary skills and grammar to be proficient in this section.
