TISSNET 2024
TISSNET is a computer-based exam consisting of multiple-choice questions based on Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge and English language. The total duration of the exam is 1 hour 40 minutes. There are no individual sectional cut-offs in TISSNET, except for the GK section. The candidate has to clear the overall cut-off as well the GK section cut-off to enroll for programmes offered by TISS. Subsequently, the candidates are required to attend the next selection rounds and the final merit list is determined on the basis of the marks obtained at each screening stage.

TISSNET Eligibility Criteria 2024: Basic Requirements
Although TISS specifies particular set of eligibility conditions for every programme, the general criteria for TISSNET remains fixed for all. Below are the important rules present in TISSNET eligibility specifications:
  • For admission to M.A. programmes at TISS, a bachelor's degree with minimum 3 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a recognized university is required. 
  •  At the time of applying, candidates studying in three-year degree programmes should have passed all subjects from first to fourth semesters; while candidates studying in four-year degree programmes should have passed in all subjects for first to sixth semester.
  • Only those candidates who are likely to complete all the requirements of their final year Bachelor's Degree examinations by June 2024, should apply to the programme.
  • There's no age limit for TISSNET exam.
Even if you fulfil TISSNET eligibility, it is very important that you submit your final marksheets within the specified time periods, as admission to any of the masters programmes stands provisional until you do so. Those who fail to do so, the provisional admission for them stands cancelled.
Further, candidates who make it to the personal interviews need to produce their original certificates and marksheets on the day of the interview. Those who are in the final year have to bring the marksheets of all previous semesters excluding the final one. These documents are essential for verification of the candidate's eligibility.
Apart from the above-mentioned criteria for TISSNET Eligibility 2024, there are particular requirements for certain programmes too.
TISS Eligibility: Programme-Specific Requirements
Following are the prerequisites for the major programmes of TISS:
  • For M.A. in (Organisation Development, Change and Leadership) offered in the field of Social Work, the candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of professional working experience after completing their Bachelor’s degree.
  • For Master of Public Health/ Hospital Administration, candidate must have a three-year Bachelor's Degree in any stream or a four-year Bachelor's Degree in medicine/ paramedical sciences/ veterinary sciences/ pharmacy/ law.
  • For M.A./M.Sc. in Urban Policy and Governance, candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Management/ Engineering/ Planning/ Architecture/ Physical Sciences/ Geography/ Law/ Social Sciences.
  • For M.A. in Applied Psychology, the candidate must have a B.A./B.Sc. degree in Psychology.
  • For Master of Law, the candidate must have completed LL.B. Degree with 50% marks.
  • For all the other programmes at TISS, the requirements remain the same as the above-stated basic TISSNET eligibility criteria.
