Established in 1936, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) is one of the earliest institutes to offer courses in social sciences. It will be held for admissions into M.A. (HRM & LR) and M.A. (ODCL) at the School of Management and Labour Studies at TISS. The test also applies to other master's degree programmes offered at various campuses.
What is CUET PG?
The CUET PG is a common entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to various PG programmes in about 40 central and other participating universities. The CUET PG exam is conducted annually as a 120-minute exam. Till 2022, the CUET PG exam was called CUCET (Central Universities Common Entrance Test). Before 2021, the University Grants Commission (UGC) had conducted the exam in the mode of paper-pencil.
The CUET 2024 PG examination is scheduled from March 11, 2024 to Marc 28, 2024. The Application forms for CUET 2024 will be released in March 2024, by the NTA. Students will be able to register online on the CUET 2024 application portal, from March'24 to April'24. Applicants will also get a chance to edit the CUET 2024 PG application form if they have made any errors while filling it out. Applicants will be able to download the CUET 2024 PG admit card in the fourth week of May. It is expected that there will be no alteration in the CUET PG 2024 exam pattern.
CUET-PG exam is held in computer-based mode at 100+test centres across various cities of India. Around 40,000 candidates appear for the exam annually. The difficulty level of CUET-PG is comparable to that of NMAT, CMAT, and similar other entrance tests.
What is the structure of the CUET-PG exam?
The CUET PG 2024 examination pattern consists of 100 questions. The CUET 2024 question paper is divided into two sections. Part A consists of 25 questions on Language Verbal/Comprehension Ability, and Part B consists of 75 subject/topic-related questions. In the case of the CUET PG marking scheme, every question carries four marks. For every incorrect answer, one mark is deducted, and for every unanswered response, no mark is given. Candidates must note that the Language Comprehension/Verbal Ability section is compulsory. The General Test also has to be taken by candidates opting for all test papers except Education (PGQP01).

CUET PG 2024: Marking Scheme
The marking scheme of the CUET PG 2024 exam is as follows:
- Each question carries four marks.
- For each correct response, candidates will get four marks.
- For each incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted from the total score.
- Unanswered/unattempted answers will be given no marks.
CUET 2024 PG Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the exact eligibility criteria set by the NTA to register and attempt the CUET PG 2024. The main CUET PG 2024 eligibility criteria are given below:
- PG Admissions: Students applying for a master’s degree must possess a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university. There is no minimum or maximum age limit for PG admissions.

Admission Process at TISS
The selection process at TISS comprises of two major stages: CUET PG and Assessments. It is important to note that the reservation rules do not apply at the first stage. As per CUET-PG score, the candidates are shortlisted for the next stage.
Assessments
A three-member panel holds the online/offline assessments to evaluate the candidate’s interest and readiness for the chosen programme. The duration of QA is 20-30 minutes. It consists of the following screening stages:
- Extempore
The candidate has to select one topic from the two available options and speak on it for 2-3 minutes. The topics are generally related to the programme chosen by the candidate.
- Personal Interview
In the last stage, the candidates need to attend an online/offline personal interview, where the interviewers probe them on their knowledge of social and economic issues. Questions regarding graduation subjects, hobbies, etc. mostly form the topic for discussion.
