IIFT is a national level exam conducted for admission to three campuses of IIFT (Delhi, Kolkata and Kakinada) which offers MBA programme in International Business. The exam is very popular among MBA aspirants and is considered as important as CAT.
The IIFT exam is taken by around 60,000+ candidates every year. The exam is considered to be a little tougher than CAT, so aspirants need to brace themselves in advance. Students need to have a well-structured strategy for cracking IIFT exam.
When is IIFT held?
Every year IIFT exam is held in December. However, in 2020, the exam was delayed due to COVID-19 and was conducted on January 24, 2021. As soon as the institute releases the notification, all the information about the registration and exam will be provided.
The admit cards are released two weeks before the final exam. The candidates can download the admit cards from the official website- iift.edu
What is the structure of IIFT?
The exam consists of objective type questions. Till 2018, IIFT was a pen-paper based test. In 2019, it was conducted in online format and henceforth students should practice for online format. The exam duration is for two hours and is held in a single session. The IIFT exam date will be announced soon after the notification will be out. The exam will contain 110 questions divided into 4 sections. The exam is of 300 marks with 1.5 allotted to every correct answer in General Awareness section, whereas 3 marks for each correct answer in the other three sections (QR, RC & VR,and DI& LR). One-third negative mark for each wrong answer.
The IIFT exam is considered to be a bit tougher than CAT so aspirants often have a tough time while writing this exam. The pattern for this year is slightly different. The Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension questions come under different sub-sections, so students cannot compensate the attempt of one with the other. A similar segregation has been done with DI and LR sections.
Who can give IIFT?
The most important IIFT eligibility criteria is that a candidate hold a recognized bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years’ duration in any discipline with minimum 50% marks. The Candidates appearing for a qualifying examination (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) can also apply subject to submission of proof of requisite qualification by First week of October, 2022. There is no limit of age or attempts for giving IIFT.
What is the admission process?
