The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) is popular for its two-year MBA in International Business in its New Delhi and Kolkata campuses. It conducts an objective test named IIFT, generally in the month of November/December, to shortlist candidates for its MBA - International Business Program. The various sections of the test over the last few years have been Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation in one section, Reading Comprehension and Verbal Ability in one section; Logical Reasoning and General Awareness are two other sections. Following are the important IIFT trends that we have noticed: Firstly, number of questions varies every year. IIFT 2016 featured 118 questions in 4 sections. The exam is of 100 marks with 4 sets having the sectional cut- offs. Cut- offs are generally low and for the previous few years have been hovering around 38-48 marks. It depends on the difficulty level of the exam, number of candidates appearing for the exam in a particular year.
The written exam is followed by Group Discussion, Essay Writing and Personal Interview. On the basis of the candidates' performance and the IIFT cutoff, the IIFT makes a merit list for the second round of Group Discussion, Personal Interview and Essay Writing. The IIFT cutoff is declared by the institute once the results are out.
