Management Aptitude Test (MAT 2020) is a national level test conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA) to screen candidates for admission to MBA and allied programs offered by the various B-schools of the country who will participate in the MAT 2020. It is conducted 4 times in a year i.e. in the month of May, September, December and February. Candidates can choose to take either Paper Based Test or Computer Based Test as per their convenience.

Comprehensive Analysis of MAT December 2020

The MAT exam was conducted in PBT, CBT and IBT modes. The PBT MAT December 2020 was conducted on 6^th December 2020 and CBT was conducted on December 28. The IBT MAT was conducted from November 21 to December 24. There were 200 questions in 150 min comprising of five different test areas viz. Language Comprehension, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Indian and Global Environment with 40 questions in each section. The level of difficulty was of moderate difficulty.

The basic purpose of the exam analysis is to make test takers aware about the types of questions, number of questions, marking scheme, level of difficulty, sectional weightage and duration of the exam.

Data Analysis and Sufficiency

The section had questions that were straightforward yet tedious to solve. If a candidate knew the tips and tricks to solve the questions, they would have easily completed the section in time. Questions from topics like Ratio and Proportion, Simple Average etc. were easy to solve. Overall, this section was moderate.

The level of difficulty in this section was moderate to difficult. A net score of 25 or more can be classified as a good score in this section.

Language Comprehension

To score well in verbal section, one function must be well acquainted with basic concepts of grammar and should have good knowledge of English usage. The section had 2 RC of 290-350 words of easy to moderate level of difficulty. A score of 26-28 marks can be considered a good attempt.

In this test area most of the questions were predominantly from business, current affairs, famous personalities etc.
The marks scored in this section are not counted in the consolidated score.
The difficulty level of this section was easy to moderate.
People who read the newspaper on a regular basis found this area moderate.

The section can be attempted in a time limit of 10-15 minutes. A good attempt for this section will 15-17 questions with at least 75% accuracy.
