MAT 2021 Registration: Detailed process for MAT application form

MAT Registration - Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a national-level examination conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA) for admission to MBA and other allied programs. The exam is conducted four times a year, in the months of: February, May, September, and December. Almost 3 lakh aspirants take the test annually, making it India’s largest management entrance test. MAT scores are accepted by more than 600 B-schools.

Candidates have the option to appear for either Paper-Based Test (PBT), Computer-Based Test (CBT) or Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (IBT) for MAT 2021 February session.


MAT application form is to be filled in online mode only. Generally, MAT application is filled in three steps-:

  1. Registration(Creating a Profile)
  2. Filling up the MAT Application Form
  3. Fee Payment

Before filling the MAT 2021 application form, keep the following documents ready with you:

  • Marksheets of Class 10th, 12th and Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree (if any).
  • Scanned image of your passport size photograph in .jpg/ .jpeg format with size 20 - 75 KB. The photograph should be taken in white or light-colored background.
  • Scanned image of your signature in .jpg/ .jpeg format and size 5 - 50KB. The signature should be done with a black pen on a white paper.
  • Category certificates, if any.
  • Payment instruments like Debit card/ Credit Card/Net Banking details.

Additionally, you need to have a valid email address and a phone number.

The fee structure is as follows:

  • For Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (IBT) 1650/-
  • For Double Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (IBT) 2750/-
  • For Paper Based Test (PBT) 1650/-

Note: If you opt for 2 IBT, you have the advantage of selecting two additional management institutes for sending your scores in addition to the existing option of selecting five management institutes.

The detailed registration and application process for MAT 2021 is discussed below:

Step 1
  • Go to the official website ( ) and open the registration window to ‘create new login’.
  • Enter your personal details (name, valid id, date of birth) and password.

(Your password should have one special character and a numerical number.)

You will receive the confirmation in your email. Note your user ID and password.

Step 2
  • Login using your user ID and password.
  • Select the centers where you want to appear for the exam.
  • Enter your personal, contact and address details.
  • Enter your educational qualification and work experience details (if any).
  • ‘Save’ the details and upload your scanned signature and photograph according to the specified guidelines.
Step 3 : Fee Payment
  • The application fee has to be paid via online Mode only (Debit / Credit Card/Net Banking).

Once done, you cannot change any information given in the form.  You can view the complete application by clicking on ‘View Application’ and can take a printout of the same for your record.

It is advised that you provide correct information in the application. From 2019, AIMA discontinued the offline mode of form submission. Finally, you can download the admit card from the website seven days before the exam date.
