The Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT) score is used by hundreds of AICTE-approved MBA institutes and government-sponsored universities to screen applicants for their MBA programmes. CMAT is the primary screening tool used by these B-Schools to shortlist candidates for further admission rounds which are Group Discussions, Essay writing and Personal Interviews.
CMAT is an objective test conducted in a computer-based mode. It contains five sections to be solved in a span of 180 minutes. Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation:
This section is created to access the aspirants’ basic mathematical ability in order to solve numerical aptitude questions. The candidates must know to solve multiplications, long tables, squares and cubes to score well in this section. This area intends to test the problem-solving capability of the candidates and check their understanding of the basic concepts in mathematics.
It is dominated by questions from arithmetic, DI graphs, and algebra. Questions from modern mathematics do not have a frequent appearance here.

Language Comprehension
There are 3-4 Reading Comprehension passages in CMAT, which are easily understandable. These are 500-600 words in length, and fetched from management, economics, and related areas.
