The peculiar features of IIFT exam are that there are various sections and sub sections, the number of questions vary from year to year, there is negative marking and sectional cut offs. This makes IIFT one of the most challenging MBA entrance exams in our country. Students should thoroughly analyze the previous year papers and work on their strategy accordingly.
Generally, the IIFT exam is of 100 marks and has 4 sections. Reading Comprehension is a sub-section of English Usage and Data interpretation is a sub-section of the Quant section. Apart from these two sections, there a section on Logical Reasoning and a General Awareness Section. If we look at last year’s paper, maximum marks were allocated to the quantitative ability section, i.e. 35, and least were allocated to the general awareness section, i.e. 13.
