Overall Brief

On the whole the level of the test was moderate to tough. The test contained many moderate and difficult questions and hence the important factor was selection of appropriate questions to attempt. The quant section was difficult than reasoning section. One peculiar thing in this paper was that there were clusters of medium and difficult questions, so one had to skip the difficult cluster and to move to medium difficulty level cluster quickly. Verbal section was moderate. The key to getting a good percentile was time management and selection of questions.

Verbal Ability
Easy Questions:
1, 3, 4, 5-8, 9, 14, 16, 23

The first passage (1-4) based on ‘reasons behind Aghan – British war and underlying assumptions’ was easy to understand & all the questions based on it were easy except 2Q, which was moderate. The second passage (5-8) based on ‘nature of technology being deterministic & autonomous’ was slightly moderate but all the questions based on it were easy. The third passage (9-12) based on ‘practices adopted by pharma companies & role of regulators’ was difficult to understand and questions based on it were also either moderate or tough except 9Q, which was east. The fourth passage (13-16) based on ‘nonchalance shown by the people regarding their own health’ was moderate to difficult and question based on it were a mixed bag. The questions (17 &18) based on sentence rearrangement were difficult & moderate respectively. The questions (19 & 20) based on summary were moderate and easy respectively. The questions (21 &22) based on misfit were difficult and moderate respectively. The questions (23 &24) based on best- fit were easy and moderate respectively. Overall feel of the section was moderate. One could have scored 90+ percentile by attempting 18 -20 questions with 75-80% accuracy.

DI & Reasoning
Easy Questions:
35, 36 ,37, 39, 42, 43, 44

The difficulty level of DI was Moderate. There were 7 easy, 13 medium and 0 difficult questions in this section. By attempting a couple of questions from rest of the blocks, one could have fetched a very good percentile.

In this section, one could have fetched 90+ percentile by attempting 10 - 13 questions with approx. 80 % accuracy.

Quantitative Ability
Easy Questions:
47, 48, 49, 60, 66

Students found this section easier than DI this time. The Quantitative section had 5 easy, 7 medium and 10 difficult questions. Selection of questions was important to crack this section. There were questions from varied topics like Geometry, Basic Numbers, Basic Algebra, Progression and Series, Arithmetic (Percentages/Time and Work/Mixtures/Percentages/SI-CI/Ratios).

A good student could have scored 90+ percentile by attempting around 7 - 10 questions with approx. 80% accuracy.

Strategy & Tips

On the whole the level of the test was moderate to tough., though for the students who knew how to manage the time available to the best i.e., not wasting much time on lengthy and difficult questions, could easily manage an overall good attempt. The quant section was difficult than reasoning section. Verbal section was moderate. Most of the questions in quant section were from Arithmetic, Algebra, Number system and Geometry. For verbal section, one should have good reading speed & comprehension skills as there were 4 RCs based on different areas and also a few questions based on other areas such as summary, SR, best-fit & odd one out. One must focus on contextual vocabulary to understand and score well in passages &summary-based questions. Questions such as sentence rearrangement and Best-fit/Misfit require analysis and knowledge of tricks to answer the questions. It is advisable not to spend too much time on TITA questions especially in the verbal section.
