On the whole the level of the test was moderate to tough. The test contained many moderate and difficult questions and hence the important factor was selection of appropriate questions to attempt. The quant section was the toughest section in the paper. DI was also very tough. One peculiar thing in this paper was that there were clusters of medium and difficult questions, so one had to skip the difficult cluster and to move to medium difficulty level cluster quickly. Verbal section was moderate. The key to getting a good percentile was time management and selection of questions.
The first passage (1-4) based on ‘consumer psychology & manipulating their emotions’ was an interesting read and questions based on it were easy except Q 2, which was moderate. The second passage 95-8) based on ‘hyperlapse consumerism & its pattern and impact was slightly tricky to understand. The questions based on it were a mixed bag i.e. two were easy & two were moderate. The third passage (9-12) based on ‘correlation & conflict between philosophy & literature’ was difficult to understand and questions based on it were also either moderate or difficult. The fourth passage (13-16) based on ‘predictive processing & reducing predictive error’ was again tricky to understand under time constraint. The questions based on it were also either moderate or difficult except Q13, which was easy. The questions (17-18) based on summary were easy. The questions (19-20) based on finding the best fit were moderate. The questions based on sentence rearrangement were moderate & difficult respectively. The questions (23-24) were easy & moderate respectively. Overall feel of this section was moderate. However, one could have easily scored 90+ percentile by attempting 17-19 questions with 75-80% accuracy.
The difficulty level of DI was tough. There were 1 easy, 7medium and 12difficult questions in this section. The first blocks (The ratio distribution of total marks of five students) was on tougher side and the students who had a good understanding of ratio could have cracked it. The other block (Pyare, Qutie, Raju, Sitara, and Tara participated in a test) was binary based and should have been attempted. Last block (Seven friends, namely Aryan, Babli, Chetan, Divij, Esha, Farhan and Gursimer) was on tough side and should have been avoided. In this section, one could have fetched 90+ percentile by attempting 6-8 questions with approx. 80 % accuracy.
Students found this section tough. The Quantitative section had4 medium and 18 difficult questions. Selection of questions was important to crack this section. There were questions from varied topics like Geometry, Basic Numbers, Basic Algebra, Progression and Series, Arithmetic (Percentages/Time and Work/Mixtures/Percentages/Alligation/Ratios). A good student could have scored 90+ percentile by attempting around 4-6questions with approx. 80% accuracy.
The overall feel of the paper was moderate to tough, though for the students who knew how to manage the time available to the best i.e., not wasting much time in lengthy and difficult questions, could easily manage an overall good attempt. The quant section was the toughest section in the paper. DI was also very tough. Verbal section was moderate. Most of the questions in quant section were from Arithmetic, Algebra, Number system and Geometry. For verbal section, one should have good reading speed & comprehension skills as there were 4 RCs based on different areas and also a few questions based on other areas such as summary, SR, best-fit & odd one out. One must focus on contextual vocabulary to understand and score well in passages & summary-based questions. Questions such as sentence rearrangement and misfit/Best-fit require analysis and knowledge of tricks to answer the questions. It is not advisable to spend too much time on TITA questions especially in the verbal section.
