The Common Admission Test (CAT) is conducted by Indian Institute of Management (IIM) every year in the month of November. CAT 2017 is a prerequisite for admissions into various management programs offered by the IIMs, IITs, FMS and various other CAT affiliated institutes.

To ensure fairness and impartiality while comparing performances of the candidates across different sections of the test, the scores of the candidates will be subjected to normalization. Following normalization across questions, the scores will be further normalized across sections and thus, the scores obtained shall be converted into percentiles for shortlisting of applicants for the next round.
Scaled Scores for each section (Section I: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Section II: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Section III: Quantitative Ability (QA)) and Total scores) will be published along with the Percentiles.
After the scores are published, the applicants are shortlisted on the basis of their CAT score and Application Rating (AR) to be invited for GD/ PI rounds.
