SNAP 2027: Dates, Eligibility, Pattern, Syllabus & Cut-off

Symbiosis International (Deemed University) conducts the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP), a national-level computer-based MBA entrance exam. It is used for admission to MBA programmes offered by 17 Symbiosis Institutes located in six cities, Pune, Nashik, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Noida, and Bengaluru. With a single SNAP score, you can get admission to 32 MBA programmes across the Symbiosis ecosystem including specialisations such as Business Analytics, International Business, Operations and Healthcare.
SNAP is an exam preferred by MBA aspirants because it offers multiple attempts and takes the best score, reducing pressure. SNAP 2027 is a 60-minute computer-based test with 60 questions, which is shorter (only 60 minutes) than CAT or XAT. The paper consists of four sections: General English (10 questions), Analytical and Logical Reasoning (20 questions), Quantitative, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency (20 questions) and Ethics, Morality and Values (10 questions). Each correct answer carries 1 mark, and 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer. Candidates can appear for up to three tests, and the best score is considered for the final percentile. There is no normalization.
SNAP 2027 registration is expected to be conducted from the second week of August to the fourth week of November 2027. The exams will be held from second week of December to last week of December 2027 in a window of three days and multiple slots, based on the applications. SNAP is conducted in 79 cities across India to ensure its reach. The results will be declared in the second week of January 2028, tentatively. The SNAP registration fee is ?2,550 per test. Candidates must also pay a separate programme registration fee of ?1,000 for each MBA programme. Final-year students and graduates with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) are eligible to appear for the SNAP 2027 Entrance Test.

SNAP 2027 Eligibility Criteria
SNAP 2027 programme eligibility is determined by SIU for each MBA programme. The rules below are from the latest SNAP bulletin and are tentative for SNAP 2027. Always confirm on snaptest.org and the institute page before paying fees. Fees paid for a programme you are not eligible for will not be refunded or transferred.
Educational Qualification for SNAP 2027
The common eligibility rule for most SIU MBA programmes is that candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from any recognised University or Institution of National Importance. Final-year students can apply provisionally, subject to completing their degree before the specified deadline. Some programmes have additional requirements:
  • The Infrastructure Development MBA programme at SCMHRD Pune needs an Engineering (BE/BTech), Architecture (B.Arch) or Planning (B.Plan) degree, or a non-engineering degree with specified work experience.
  • Analytics and dual-degree programmes may also require work experience, higher marks or partner-university conditions.
  • The SIMS Defence category has specific defence-personnel conditions.
Candidates should verify the exact eligibility criteria for their preferred programmes on the official website before applying.
Minimum Percentage Requirement for SNAP 2027
For most programmes listed in the SNAP bulletin, candidates must meet the following minimum percentage criteria in their graduation:
  • General category and others: a minimum of 50% marks or an equivalent grade
  • SC/ST: minimum 45% marks or equivalent grade
A few programmes, including some dual-degree tracks, may ask for a higher percentage. Candidates should check the specific requirement for their preferred programme in the official bulletin before applying.
Age Limit and Number of Attempts for SNAP 2027
The SNAP bulletin does not prescribe a maximum age limit for appearing in the exam. Candidates can take up to three tests (SNAP 01, SNAP 02 and SNAP 03) in a single cycle, and the higher score is used for percentile calculation. There is no score normalisation across the three dates. The SNAP score for the current cycle is valid only for selected SIU programmes for the academic year 2027–28.
SNAP 2027 Exam Pattern
The SNAP 2027 exam pattern is expected to remain the same as last year. The pattern mentioned below is based on the latest SNAP test structure. SNAP is a 60-minute CBT with objective questions (four options each). You may attempt sections in any order. The section-wise structure for SNAP 2027 is given below.

The SNAP 2027 Entrance Test lasts 60 minutes, and PwD will get an additional 20 minutes of compensatory time per hour.
Note: Older SNAP cycles had three sections. The latest SNAP adds a section on Ethics, Morality and Values, with 10 questions. Prepare for four sections unless a later official notice changes these details.
SNAP 2027 Marking Scheme
Candidates will get 1 mark for the correct answer, and no marks will be deducted for the unattempted questions.
  • Correct answer: +1 mark
  • Wrong answer: 25% negative marks (0.25 mark deducted per wrong answer)
  • Unattempted: 0
  • Scores published by SIU are final. There is no appeal or revaluation
  • Higher score across multiple attempts is used for percentile; no score normalisation across test dates
Hitbullseye tip: With 60 questions in 60 minutes and 0.25 negative marking per answer, accuracy matters more than attempting everything. Practise all four sections, including Ethics, Morality and Values, in Hitbullseye SNAP mocks before your booked date.
SNAP 2027 Result and Scorecard
The SNAP 2027 result will tentatively be released on snaptest.org in the second week of January 2028 and will remain available until the second week of February 2028.
How to Check SNAP Result
Candidates use the SNAP result to get admission to management.
  1. Go to snaptest.org.
  2. Log in with your SNAP ID and password.
  3. Open the result or scorecard section and view your SNAP score and overall percentile.
  4. Download and print your scorecard. It's your official result.
Keep the scorecard safe. You can't take part in GE-PI without it, and if you're admitted, you must keep it until you finish the programme. If you took more than one SNAP test, your higher score is used for the percentile, and scores aren't normalised. However, SNAP scores will be valid for one academic year only.
SNAP 2027 Shortlisting and Admission Process
Shortlisting for Group Exercise and Personal Interaction (GE-PI) is based on your overall SNAP percentile.
  • Each institute runs GE-PI separately for each programme.
  • Cut-offs are also programme-wise.
  • You may be shortlisted for more than one programme, so you must attend GE-PI for each separately.
  • It is mandatory to attend all GE-PI components. Missing any component makes you ineligible for that MBA admission process.
Check each institute’s website for GE-PI dates and instructions.

General English Syllabus for SNAP 2027
General English has 10 questions. It tests your reading, vocabulary, and grammar. Hitbullseye suggests preparing these areas:
  • Reading Comprehension: short passages with questions on the main idea, inference, tone and vocabulary in context
  • Vocabulary: synonyms, anttone, onyms, analogies, one-word substitution, idioms, and phrases
  • Grammar and usage: error spotting, sentence correction, and fill in the blanks
  • Verbal reasoning: para jumbles, odd sentence out, sentence completion, and critical reasoning
Hitbullseye tip: With only 10 questions, accuracy matters more than speed here. Read a little every day and revise your vocabulary every week.
Analytical and Logical Reasoning Syllabus for SNAP 2027
This topic is one of the two biggest sections, with 20 questions. Focus on these areas:
  • Arrangements: linear and circular seating and distribution of puzzles
  • Blood relations, direction sense, and coding-decoding
  • Series: number, letter, and figure series, and odd one out
  • Syllogisms, statements and conclusions, and statements and assumptions
  • Clocks, calendars, and input-output
  • Visual reasoning: mirror images, pattern completion, and non-verbal reasoning
  • Critical reasoning: cause and effect and course of action
Hitbullseye tip: Most of these question types follow fixed patterns. Learn a quick method for each one, and practice in timed sets of 10 to build speed.
Quantitative, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency Syllabus for SNAP 2027
Quantitative Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency section also contains 20 questions. It is a mix of maths, data reading, and data sufficiency. Include these topics:
  • Arithmetic: percentages, profit and loss, simple and compound interest, ratio and proportion, averages, mixtures, time and work, and time, speed and distance
  • Number system: divisibility, HCF and LCM, remainders and unit digits
  • Algebra: linear and quadratic equations, inequalities, and progressions
  • Geometry and mensuration: triangles, circles, areas and volumes
  • Modern maths: permutations and combinations, and probability
  • Data Interpretation: tables, bar graphs, line graphs, pie charts and caselets
  • Data Sufficiency: deciding whether the given statements are enough to answer a question
Hitbullseye tip: Arithmetic and DI usually give the best return for your time. Make sure your basics and calculation speed are strong before you move to harder topics.
Ethics, Morality and Values Syllabus for SNAP 2027
This section first appeared in the SNAP 2026 bulletin, with 10 questions. The bulletin does not provide a topic list for this section, so you should prepare for situational judgement rather than memorising facts. Hitbullseye suggests focusing on:
  • Workplace and business ethics: honesty, integrity, conflicts of interest and fair practice
  • Situational judgement: choosing the most ethical response to a real-life or professional dilemma
  • Values and social responsibility: fairness, respect, accountability and concern for society and the environment
  • Personal ethics: decisions involving peers, teams and authority
Hitbullseye tip: In these questions, look for the option that is fair, responsible and legal, not just the one that's easiest. Solve practice sets to get used to how the options are worded.
How to Prepare for SNAP 2027
SNAP gives you 60 questions to solve in 60 minutes and deducts 25% for each wrong answer. That makes speed with accuracy the skill to build. Hitbullseye recommends finishing your concepts first, then moving to timed sectional tests, and spending the last four to six weeks on full-length SNAP mocks.
Section-wise Preparation Strategy for SNAP 2027
Candidates can practice the sections below using official mock tests and Hitbullseye mocks. You can prepare for the SNAP 2027 entrance exam.
General English (10 questions): Read editorials and opinion pieces every day for reading comprehension. Revise vocabulary every week, including synonyms, antonyms, analogies, and idioms. Practice error spotting, sentence correction, and para jumbles. Aim for high accuracy here, because these questions are usually quick.
Analytical & Logical Reasoning (20 questions): This section and Quant carry the most marks. Learn a fixed method for arrangements, blood relations, coding-decoding, series, syllogisms, and visual reasoning. Solve timed sets of 10 questions and track how long each question type takes you.
Quantitative, DI & DS (20 questions): Start with arithmetic: percentages, profit and loss, ratios, averages, time and work, and time, speed, and distance. Then move to the number system, algebra, geometry, and probability. Practice data interpretation sets and data sufficiency every day, and work on calculation shortcuts.
Ethics, Morality, and Values (10 questions): This section is new in the SNAP 2026 bulletin. Practice situational and workplace-dilemma questions. Choose the fair, responsible, and lawful option, and use Hitbullseye practice sets to familiarise yourself with the wording.
Time Management Tips for SNAP 2027
Candidates can attempt the sections in any order, so begin with your strongest one to build confidence and save time.
  • A rough split to start from: about 6 to 7 minutes for English, 18 minutes for Reasoning, 22 minutes for Quant, DI and DS, and 6 to 7 minutes for Ethics. Leave a few minutes to review.
  • Don't stay on one question for more than about 60 to 90 seconds. Mark it and come back later.
  • Because of negative marking, skip questions you'd only be guessing on blindly. Attempt one when you can rule out two options.
  • You can take up to three SNAP tests, and only your highest score counts. Use your first attempt to work out your timing plan, then adjust it before the next one.
SNAP 2027 Cut-Off
SNAP cut-offs are set separately for each programme and institute. They aren't published in the SNAP bulletin. Under the SNAP latest bulletin, which is tentative for SNAP 2027, cut-offs work in two stages:
  1. Shortlisting cut-off: The score is based on your overall SNAP percentile and decides whether you're called for GE-PI (Group Exercise and Personal Interaction).
  2. Final merit and wait-list cut-off: This is category-wise and is published on each institute's own website after GE-PI
Expected Cut-off for SNAP 2027
SIU does not release expected or official SNAP 2027 cut-offs. SIBM Pune and SCMHRD usually need the highest percentiles among SIU institutes, followed by SIIB, SIBM Bengaluru, SICSR, and SIMC. Newer campuses and specialised programmes typically have lower shortlisting thresholds. Check the official GE-PI shortlist and cut-off notice on each institute's website once SNAP results are out.
Hitbullseye tip: Don't plan around a single target number. Apply to a mix of programmes, from highly competitive ones to safer options, so that a strong SNAP percentile can get you more than one GE-PI call.
Factors Affecting SNAP Cut-Off
These are the following factors that impact the SNAP cutoff:
  • Number of candidates taking SNAP and how many apply to each programme
  • Difficulty level of the SNAP papers across the test dates
  • Programme intake
  • Category-wise reservation (cut-offs are set category-wise)
  • How popular the programme or specialisation is
  • At the final merit stage, your GE and PI performance alongside your SNAP score

SNAP 2027 FAQs
Q. Is there normalisation if I take SNAP on different dates?
A. The SNAP 2027 (Tentative) bulletin says your higher score is used for the final percentile and that scores aren't normalised. It also says the question papers are set to match in difficulty across all three tests. SIU's scores are final, and you can't ask for a revaluation.
Q. What is the SNAP 2027 exam pattern? Is there still a GK section?
A. SNAP is a 60-minute computer-based test with 60 objective questions. It has four sections: General English (10), Analytical & Logical Reasoning (20), Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency (20), and Ethics, Morality, and Values (10). There's no separate GK or current affairs section. Ethics, Morality, and Values is new in the 2026 bulletin.
Q. Is there negative marking in SNAP 2027?
A. Yes, a correct answer gets +1 mark and a wrong answer loses 25% of a mark. A question you don't attempt gets no marks. Hitbullseye recommends guessing only when you can rule out at least two options.
Q. Is there a sectional cut-off in SNAP 2027?
A. The bulletin doesn't mention a sectional cut-off. It says only that GE-PI shortlisting is based on your overall SNAP percentile, separately for each programme. Hitbullseye recommends keeping your scores balanced across all four sections, since each institute sets its own shortlisting criteria.
Q. What is the SNAP 2027 registration fee?
A. The fee is INR 2,550 per SNAP test, plus applicable taxes. You also pay INR 1,000 for each programme and institute you register for, plus taxes. Both fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Q. Who is eligible for SNAP 2027? Can final-year students apply?
A. Candidates for most programmes need a graduation degree from a recognised university with at least 50% marks, or 45% for SC/ST candidates. Some programmes have their own requirements, such as an engineering degree or work experience. Final-year students can apply, but their admission depends on meeting the minimum percentage in their final results. The bulletin doesn't set an upper age limit.
Q. Can I change my test date or city after registering?
A. No. The exam authorities do not allow changes after registration, and you can't change your test date or city once you've paid the SNAP fee. Dates and cities are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis, so register early to get your preferred city allotted.
Q. What happens after the SNAP 2027 result?
A. Each programme shortlists candidates for GE-PI (Group Exercise and Personal Interaction) based on their overall SNAP percentile. If you're shortlisted for more than one programme, you attend a separate GE-PI for each. The final merit list adds your SNAP score scaled to 50, GE out of 10 and PI out of 40, for a total of 100. You have to attend every part of GE-PI to be eligible.
Q. Which colleges accept the SNAP 2027 score, and how long is it valid?
A. The SNAP 2026 bulletin lists 17 Symbiosis institutes that accept the score, including SIBM Pune, SCMHRD, SIIB, SIBM Bengaluru and SICSR. Your score is valid only for SIU programmes for the 2028–29 academic year.
Q. How is SNAP different from CAT? Can I prepare for both together?
A. The bulletin gives SNAP's own pattern: 60 questions in 60 minutes, four sections and no sectional time limit. It doesn't compare SNAP with CAT. Hitbullseye's guidance is that the core Quant, Verbal and LR-DI preparation overlaps, so you can prepare for both together. For SNAP, add speed practice and Ethics practice sets in the final four to six weeks.
