The exam is annually held by one of the IIMs in the month of November. In 2017, CAT was conducted on 26th November. CAT is a computerized test with three different sections that assess a student's aptitude for management education. Alongside the answer key, candidates are also extended the provision to fill in the Objection Form in case of discrepancies. The objection form allows students to share feedback and gets doubts cleared, bringing much-needed transparency in the system. The deadline to submit objections was 2 pm on December 9, 2017. The move by IIM Lucknow to share answer key and question paper with students is being considered a welcome move since it will allow students to assess how they performed in the exam. Accordingly, they can estimate their approximate score in the CAT exam.
Students who manage to clear business school cut-offs will be called for group discussions and personal interviews. The CAT score holds high weight in the selection criteria, and a solid score here puts a student in a strong position to get a seat in the college of his/her dreams.
