Before the exam starts:
Students need to bring a printout of their NMAT admit card and exam confirmation email as well as one ID proof with its photocopy. Digital photograph and signature are taken before students are provided a computer desk.

Please Note: Students cannot carry anything to the exam hall including pens, rough work material etc. Once the test begins, students are provided a ten-minute tutorial offering an overview of the test window regarding navigation, review options, and post that, students get the option of choosing the order of attempting the sections.
Sectionwise Analysis
Language Skills (Verbal Ability): This section consisted of 32 questions which were to be solved within 22 minutes. The preposition based Fill-in-the-blank questions were relatively easy. The correct sentence questions were also easy and out of the total three questions, two were based on subject-verb agreement errors.
There were 4 questions on Analogy, which were relatively simple. Overall, the vocabulary based questions were easy. Also, the cloze test question was easy where three blanks were simple to answer. The third and, arguably the most important topic of this section was Reading Comprehension. There were two RC passages which were of moderate level. Most of the questions were idea based. The options were tough to understand. But still they were doable questions. There were four para-jumble questions, most of them were easy.
Quantitative Skills: The Quant section had 48 questions which were to be done within one hour. The section consisted of questions from both Data Interpretation and Quantitative Aptitude. The areas of Quant that were covered included Number System, Algebra (AP, GP), Profit and Loss, Permutation and Combination, SI & CI, Venn Diagram and Ratio and Partnership.

The 5 DS questions were from diverse topics such as Numbers, Percentages, Average etc. These questions were of moderate to difficult level as they were quite lengthy. However, one could have solved these by using the basic concepts of DS.
There were 5 sets of DI which included Tables, Pie - Chart, Line Graphs and Mixed Graphs each containing 4 questions. Two of these sets were calculation intensive. The remaining 3 were easy and less calculative. 36 – 40 attempts were certainly possible.
Logical Reasoning: The Logical Reasoning section consisted of 40 questions that were required to be solved within 38 minutes. The questions in this area came from Coding-Decoding, Syllogisms, Family Based Puzzles, Seating Arrangements, Syllogism and Directions. There were two LR sets which were easy. One set of Input/ Output was there which was manageable. Questions on blood relation questions were easy. Questions based on coding-decoding were on different pattern but were not difficult.
There were around 14 questions from Verbal Reasoning. There were 7 - 8 questions on Critical Reasoning of moderate level to difficulty level. The students, with basic understanding of the fundamentals of Verbal Reasoning, could have attempted these questions correctly.
Overall, this section was easy. An attempt of 25 - 28 with 95% accuracy was achievable.
