Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a national-level examination conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) for admission to MBA and other allied programs. The exam is conducted four times a year, in February, May, September, and December. Thousands of students take the test annually, making it one of the most popular management entrance tests in India. MAT is conducted in both computer-based (CBT) and paper-based (PBT) modes. You have the flexibility to choose PBT, CBT, or even opt for both modes.

MAT application form is to be filled in online mode only. Generally, it can be completed in three main steps-:

  1. Creating a Profile (Login Registration)
  2. Completing the Application Form
  3. Fee Payment
Documents Required for MAT Application

Before filling out the MAT application form 2026, keep the following documents ready with you:

  • Mark sheets of Class 10th, 12th and Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree (if any).
  • Scanned image of your passport-size photograph in .jpg/ .jpeg format with size (10 to 50 KB). The photograph should be taken on a white or light-coloured background.
  • Scanned image of your signature in .jpg/ .jpeg format and size (5 - 20 KB). The signature should be done with a black pen on white paper.
  • Category certificates, if any.
  • Payment instruments like Debit card/ Credit Card/Net Banking details.

Additionally, you need to have a valid email address and a phone number.

MAT Registration 2026: Detailed Procedure
The complete registration and application process for MAT 2026 is discussed below:

Step 1

  • Go to the official website[](https://mat.aima.in) and open the registration window to ‘create new login’.
  • Enter your personal details (name, valid id, date of birth) and password.

(Your password should have one special character and a numerical number.)

You will receive the confirmation in your email. Note your user ID and password.

Step 2

  • Login using your user ID and password.
  • Select the centres (test cities) where you want to appear for the exam.
  • Select the MAT-accepting institutes where you have already applied or wish to applying for MBA/PGDM admission.
  • Enter your personal, contact and address details.
  • Enter your educational qualification and work experience details (if any).
  • ‘Save’ the details and upload your scanned signature and photograph according to the specified guidelines.

Step 3

  • MAT application fee has to be paid via online mode only (Debit / Credit Card/Net Banking).

MAT 2026 Fee Structure
The fee structure for MAT 2026 is as follows:
Paper-Based Test (PBT) or Computer-Based Test (CBT)
Rs. 2200/-
For PBT+CBT
Rs. 3800/-

Once done, you cannot change any information given in the form. You can view the complete application by clicking on ‘View Application’ and can take a printout of the same for your record. It is advisable for the candidates to re-check all the information before submitting the form.

It is advised that you provide the correct information in the application. Since 2019, the offline submission of the MAT registration Form has been discontinued. So, now the candidates are required to fill in the registration form online. Later on, candidates can download their admit cards from the official website as per the schedule. MAT admit cards are needed for the day of the exam.
