Management Aptitude Test (MAT 2017) is a national level test conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA) to screen candidates for admission to MBA and allied programs offered by the various B-schools of the country who will participate in the MAT 2017. It is conducted four times in a year, i.e. in the month of May, September, December, and February. Candidates can choose to take either Paper Based Test or Computer Based Test as per their convenience.
Comprehensive Analysis of MAT Dec 2017
The MAT 2017 exam was held in December. There were 200 questions comprising of five sections viz. Language Comprehension, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Indian and Global Environment with 40 questions in each section. The level of difficulty was moderate to difficult.
The basic purpose of the exam analysis is to make test takers aware about the types of questions, number of questions, marking scheme, level of difficulty, sectional weightage, and duration of the exam.

- In this test area the questions were predominantly from National and international affairs
- A major point is that the marks scored in this section are not counted in the consolidated score.
- Overall, level of difficulty of this section was moderate.
- Those who read the newspaper on a regular basis found this area comfortable.
- A good time allocation strategy was to spend around 5-10 minutes.
MAT Sep 2017 Analysis
The MAT September exam was held on September 3, 2017 in a pen-paper format, and September 9, 2017 in the online-format across centers in India. The MAT exam score is used for admissions to various business schools across the country, including some established colleges like TAPMI Manipal, Christ University Bangalore etc.

Overall this paper was of easy to moderate in terms of difficulty level. The questions based on vocabulary were solvable. Grammar and sentence correction questions were based on areas such as subject –verb agreement, and parts of speech. Sentence rearrangement questions were also easy to moderate but could be solved with the help of tricks and choices. Paragraph summary questions were a bit difficult as options were close. Reading Comprehension was an easy part. One needs to include variety in reading to score well in this section. A student who can read in between the lines could get through with this paper easily.

If one knows the basics of verbal and critical reasoning, then these questions could be done easily. Blood Relations, Direction and Coding Decoding questions were of easy level. Both type of Seating arrangement questions; Linear and Circular questions were of moderate level. There were few questions of miscellaneous reasoning which were easy to moderate level.
