How is MAT Result Computed?
The final MAT scores are based on the candidate's performance in the first four sections (Mathematical Skills, Language Comprehension, Intelligence & Critical Reasoning, and Data Analysis & Sufficiency). The scores of the fifth section (Economic & Business Environment) are not considered for MAT composite scores.
Each correct response is given one mark, with a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong attempt. Scores of each section are mapped onto a scale of 0-100, and the final (composite) score is in the range of 199 to 801. MAT percentile is calculated considering the performance of the candidate vs other candidates.
What after getting MAT result?
Post the declaration of results, candidates are shortlisted by institutes they registered with, based on their MAT scores/percentile. The shortlisted candidates are screened in Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI), and Written Ability Test (WAT) rounds. AIMA plays no role in deciding the weightage of each round.
