IIM Nagpur Admission Criteria 2020-2022

IIM Nagpur’s admission process for PGP program includes shortlisting and selection procedure for finalizing meritorious candidates for admissions. The batch size for PGP 2020-2022 will be of 225 students. IIM Nagpur will follow a three-stage process to conduct admissions for PGP 2020-2022 batch. 

The admission process for PGP 2020-2022 batch is as follows:

Stage 1: Eligibility Criteria for Admission to PGP 2020-22

For the first shortlisting of candidates for next stages, CAT-2019 score will be the basis to arrive for the first list. Candidates with positive scores (>0) in all of three sections of CAT will be considered for the admission process. The table below will explain the Minimum CAT 2019 percentile criteria:

Stage 2: Selection of Candidates for PI Process

Candidates, who applied for PGP at IIM Nagpur at the time CAT 2019 registration and meet the cut-off eligibility as shown in Table 1, will receive an email from IIM Nagpur. Shortlisted candidates would have to submit detailed Application form, copies of their 10th and 12th mark-sheets, graduation, and semester-wise/year-wise marks in bachelor’s degree. If applicable, candidates must submit copies of work experience certificates, certificate of disability, SC/ST/OBC –Non-Creamy layer certificate and EWS certificate. Candidates who submit complete application in the given time will be considered for the next stage of admission process.

Second shortlist of candidates will be prepared based on a Comprehensive Score. Comprehensive score will be calculated based on –

CAT Score

CAT Score of each candidate will be calculated as the ratio of total CAT score obtained by candidate to the maximum CAT Score and scaled between 0-10. CAT Score will be calculated as follows:

Past Academic Performance (PAP)

Past Academic Score is obtained by candidate’s performance in 10th, 12th, and Bachelor’s Degree Examination. PAP score will be computed as follows:

PAP Score = (0.25*A + 0.35*B + 0.40*C)

Work Experience

For the calculation of the work score, only full-time experience after graduation will be considered. Part time/Internship/Project/CA Articleship/Pre-graduation work experience will not be counted as work experience. To get the total experience, work duration in multiple organizations will be added to find the total.

Diversity

Diversity Score will be calculated out of 10, based on candidate’s gender, and bachelor’s degree. Gender diversity score of 5 points will be awarded based on candidate’s gender (0 for male, 5 for female and 5 for transgender candidates) and 5 points will be credited to candidates based on candidate’s bachelor’s degree in the following: 

BA, BA (H), B.Sc (H), BS, B.Com (H), BCA, BBA, B.Pharma, LL.B, MBBS, BDS or any other Non-Engineering subject areas at the Bachelor’s level not mentioned here. 

Comprehensive Score based on CT, PAP, WE and DI scores calculation as follows:

CS = 0.30 * (CAT Score) + 0.35 * (PAP) Score + 0.20 * (WE Score) + 0.15 * (DI Score)

Candidates shortlisted in the second list will have to confirm their interest in attending Personal Interview of IIM Nagpur in the First/Second week of April. Candidates who confirm the same will be scheduled for PI. 

Stage 3: Final Selection of Candidates

Candidates who submit complete application forms are shortlisted in the second list and upon confirming for attending PI, the candidates will be considered for the final stage of admission process. 

Personal Interview (PI)

Candidates shortlisted in the second list who confirm their interest in appearing for PI have to appear for PI which is to be conducted by IIM Nagpur. PI score for all the candidates will be scaled between 0 to 10. 

After PI, a final score will be calculated as follows: 

FS = (0.40 * (PI Score) + 0.15 * (CAT Score) + 0.15 * (PAP Score) + 0.20 * (WE Score))/ 0.9

 The selection at this stage will be based on candidate’s rank computed separately for each category based on their Final Scores.
