IIM Lucknow Admission Criteria (2021-2023)

IIM Lucknow announced the admission criteria and the weightage awarded to CAT 2020 scores for admission to PGP 2021-23 batch. The announcement of the shortlisting criteria and the admission policy made it clear that this B-school would prefer candidates who have excellent academic record and diversity along with work experience for the 2021-23 batch. Read the following article to understand the Criteria for WAT-PI followed by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow.
First Stage (A): Eligibility Criteria for Written Ability Test- Personal Interview (WAT- PI):
For PGP Programme:-
A minimum 85 sectional percentile and minimum 90 overall percentile in CAT 2020 exam - which will be held on November 29th, 2020 - should be scored by the aspirant.
For the PGP-ABM Programme:-
Candidates need to score a minimum of 80 sectional percentile and a minimum of 85 overall percentile in the CAT 2020 exam.
For PGP-SM Programme:-
A minimum 80 sectional percentile and minimum 85 overall percentile in CAT 2020 exam should be scored by the aspirant seeking admission in the IIM Lucknow’s PGP-SM programme. A minimum of 24 months of work experience is required for candidates intending to take admission in the PGP-SM programme.
Even if you score a little low in the CAT exam this year, you can expect to get shortlisted if you have an excellent academic record and are keen on getting into the PGP 2021-23 programme at IIM Lucknow.

  1. For Graduation Marks read the following content:

Marks will be amended to take values between 0-10. (µ= mean and σ = standard deviation of the respective Academic Discipline).
  1. No weightage will be awarded for marks obtained in Class X.
  2. 10% weightage to work experience
    A maximum weightage of 10% for work experience will be awarded during the shortlisting process in IIM Lucknow for admission to the 2021-23 batch. Only paid and full-time work experience, acquired after completing the Bachelor’s Degree will be counted as on July 31, 2020. Apprenticeship, Articleship, Internship, etc., which forms an integral part of a course of study, would not be treated as work experience.
  3. 5% weightage to academic diversity
    IIM Lucknow will award a weightage of 5 points for academic diversity. The courses that qualify for the award of weightage on academic diversity are –
    Arts/Humanities:  Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration, Social Work/Welfare, Sociology, Archaeology, Education, Fine Arts (Dance, Music, Painting), Geography, History, Journalism, Languages, Library Science, Literature.
    Commerce/Economics:  Public Finance, Secretarial Practices, Chartered Accountancy,  Cost and Works Accountancy, Company Secretaryship, Accountancy, Auditing, Banking, Business Mathematics, Business Organisation, Economics, Economic Development and Planning, Public Administration.
    Others: Education (including Physical Education and Sports); Law; Medicine/Dentistry; Pharmacology/Pharmacy.
  4. 5% Weight to Gender Diversity
    During the shortlisting criteria for admission 2020, a female candidate will be awarded a weightage of 5 points by IIM Lucknow.

First Stage (C):
Students can have access to the composite score (based on first stage B) and who qualify for first stage A and the shortlist candidates for the WAT-PI process. The information will be available on the IIM Lucknow’s official website (http://www.iiml.ac.in/). These candidates have to fill in and submit the WAT-PI form online by the deadline. It is mandatory to submit the WAT-PI form online for the further selection process.
Stage Two: Criteria for Final selection of Candidates for PGP/PGP-ABM/PGP-SM program is mentioned below:
A candidate’s final score for selection in PGP/PGP-ABM/PGP-SM program for the batch 2021–23 will be calculated based on the assigned weightage as given below:

COVID-19 Situation will be taken into consideration while conduction WAT-PI during 2021.
Important Note:
The minimum requirement for clearing the personal interview is 12 out of 40 marks. The final merit list will not include the names of candidates who do not pass in PI.
