The Shailesh J Mehta School of Management (SJMSoM) at IIT Bombay uses the CAT score to shortlist candidates for MBA admissions. These candidates are subjected to a written analysis, group discussion and interview to assess their overall suitability. The cutoff figures are important to identify candidates for the second round of the MBA admission process. Performing well in the second phase is necessary to get a seat at IIT Bombay.
IIT Bombay considers not only the standardized entrance test scores but the overall profile of the candidate including academic background, work experience, gender diversity etc. while giving a call to the shortlisted candidates. A good academic and professional work -ex portfolio can increase the candidates' selection chance exponentially. The shortlisted candidates are invited for the second phase of the admission process i.e. Personal Interview depending on the cutoff figures and a composite score will be calculated for the final merit list.
