The Department of Management Studies, IIT Madras offers MBA, Ph.D. and other courses at India's most prestigious campus. The MBA programme structure and syllabi have been created using institutional and industrial inputs. IIT Madras uses the CAT score to short list applicants for group discussion and interview. Like other IITs, this one also requires a 4-year Bachelor's Degree in Engineering /Master's Degree in specified disciplines with a first division. The IIT Madras cutoff figures for its MBA program are determined on the basis of the applicants' number and scores. The cutoff figures are used to sift the candidates for the second round.
It's imperative to know the cut-off figures while applying to an MBA institute. The last date for application at most MBA colleges is from November to January. If you are an engineer keen to get an MBA from a good college, IIT Madras is a good choice if your score is above the cutoff figures. However, IIT graduates with their Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of minimum 8.0 (on a scale of 10) are exempted from the Common Admission Test (CAT). Depending on the cut-off, you may get an invite to the next round of the selection process comprising Interview round. However, work experience in the industry is a big positive parameter that can significantly increase an individual's chance to get selected into IIT Madras.
