Among the IIMs, IIM Shillong is a young one, but in a short time, it has carved a niche for itself. It has announced the criteria for admission to its MBA class. The IIM Shillong cut-off will be applied, based on academic records and CAT sectional percentiles. The first phase would include the declaration of the shortlist for Personal Interview (PI), and the second phase involves the preparation of a final merit list for admission to the batch. The cutoff figures are decided according to the number of applications, the applicants' performance and other things. These are announced once the CAT results are declared. Though the cutoff figures vary a little from year to year, it is expected to be similar to the last year's figures.
Unlike other IIMs, IIM Shillong doesn't have an overall CAT cutoff but only sectional cutoffs.
On the basis of the criteria like academic performance, performance in the second round, work experience, extra-curricular achievements and exceptional achievements, IIM Shillong will decide the number of candidates to be shortlisted. IIM Shillong will first segregate the candidates as per the discipline offered in graduation degree and then prepare a merit list. The shortlisted candidates have to appear for Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds.
IIM-S also states a minimum cut-off of 30% each for GD and PI scores.
