MICA to orient CCC program for its students

*This year, the institute has curated a power-packed orientation program having series of interactions and engagements with passionate and prolific individuals to inspire the students to imagine new ways to engage with the ever-changing world
Ahmedabad: To acquaint the incoming batch of the Crafting Creative and Communication (CCC) program at MICA, Ahmedabad, with new ways to engage with the ever-changing world, the institute has curated a power packed orientation program that will help students reimagine the future in different ways.
The virtual orientation, spanning over six days from July 12 will have a series of interactions on deconstructing the stereotypes, collaborative futures, storytelling, being a conscious listener, decoding the film-making process, the speculative history of the English alphabet, and being relevant today.
As part of the orientation, the students will interact with Mr. Gaurav Ogale, Visual Artist, Ms. Shazia Iqbal, Filmmaker, Mr. Rajkamal Aich, Visual Artist, Ms. Kriti Monga, Turmeric Design -Type Designer, Mr. Upamanyu Bhattacharyya, Co-founder, Ghost Animation, Ms. Sumana Roy, Author and creative writer, Mr. Ayappa, Cofounder, Early Man Films, Ms. Priya Malik, Spoken word artist and influencer, Mr. Devaiah Bopanna, Content creator, Co-founder, All Things Small, and Ms. Aarti Neharsh. Film Director, Writer at Green Chutney Films.
Dr. Preeti Shroff, Dean, MICA, said, “The CCC program is evolving to deliver digital-first learning and industryimmersion experiences for the students. We are delighted to work with senior industry leaders Mr. Kunal Jeswani, CEO, Ogilvy, India and Mr. Suraja Kishore CEO, BBDO, India for curriculum creativity, relevance and innovations. This year, we are also delighted to welcome the two new senior female faculty to the CCC program team - Kavita Arvind and Samira Khan.”
Speaking about the orientation, Prof.Nitesh Mohanty, Co-Chair, CCC program at MICA, said, “The pandemic has indeed compelled all of us to pause, reflect, introspect and rethink our role and place in the world. At MICA, apart from inculcating cutting-edge knowledge, we also hope to inspire our students to imagine new ways to engage with the ever-changing world. Therefore, we expect the exclusively curated line of speakers for the CCC orientation to enthral and provoke our students to reimagine the future and stir them to create work that can be extremely personal yet have universal resonance.”
The institute recently concluded its orientation for all the incoming students. The common orientation program, held virtually, had various sessions on diversity, wellness, mindfulness, design thinking, case analysis, ideation, creativity, etc. In addition, as part of the orientation program, the students attended 6-panel discussions on the remote working, economy, markets, and business after corona, digital transformation, innovative pedagogy, critical thinking, and online learning.
