The Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) offers a 2-year full time MBA programme and Ph.D. programmes as well. Generally, FMS cut-off is around 97-98 percentile in CAT. Here, we have given the composite CAT cut-off score 2021, and 2022 cut-off will lie around the same figures.

FMS Admission Criteria

After getting shortlisted, the candidates have to appear for a Group Discussion and Personal Interview before final selection. At the time of interview, the candidate's academics, work experience, personality and overall suitability is put to test. All these parameters carry due weightage, apart from the performance in the CAT, which is used to decide the FMS cutoff score. So it is very important to remember that clearing the FMS Cut Off is insufficient as there is a final hurdle to be crossed before admission. The final merit list is based on the weightages of the following components of the selection process. They are mentioned as follows:

  • CAT Score- 50%
  • Class X Marks- 10%
  • Class XII Marks- 10%
  • Personal Interview- 15%
  • Discussion on SOP- 10%
  • Extempore- 5 %

Recently, FMS has introduced a composite score criteria to shortlist candidates for GD-PI round. The maximum composite score gives 100% weight to CAT score but the candidate is shortlisted on the basis of differential weightage alloted to sectional percentile scores. Eg. Composite Score = ∑(Score in Section * Weightage)/Max Marks for the Section.

The criteria of composite score can get a candidate shortlisted despite a low score in Quant but high in VA-RC and overall low percentile viz. a candidate who has low score in VA-RC but high in Quant and overall high percentile. The sectional weightages alloted are as under:

CAT Exam Section
Score Weightage
Quantitative Ability (QA)
 30%
Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR)
 30%
Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning (VARC)
 40%

An additional 5 marks have been added to the total score so calculated in the case of women candidates.
