For PGP programme, IIM Shillong follows a two stage admission process for finalizing the candidates for PGP 20212023 batch. Student should go through the information released by IIM Shillong for the admission criteria to Post Graduate Program in Management.
The two phase selection process includes:
Phase1 Shortlisting Candidates for Group Discussion and Personal Interview Session
Phase 2 Merit Listing for final Admission Offer to PGP 202123 Batch

Key Details of PHASE – 1: Short listing Process for Group Discussion and Personal Interview
 Those candidates who have opted for IIM Shillong in their CAT 2020
application will be eligible for consideration in Phase 1.Read the content of the following table as the minimum requirement of marks for consideration in different categories in various examination is mentioned.

*Note: The actual percentage and percentile mentioned in table 1 of a shortlisted candidate for the GD & PI process may be much higher than the above mentioned minimum values.
Also, VARC stands for Verbal and Reading Comprehension, DILR stands for Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning, QA stands for Quantitative Aptitude.
 As per the data mentioned in A , eligible candidates will be segregated as per their academic disciplines in graduation as mentioned in CAT 2020. Annexure 1 gives details of academic disciplines.
A certain percentage (α) of candidates from each academic discipline will be shortlisted for GD and PI. The details are mentioned below:
N = Number of candidates that appeared for CAT 2020 Exam
G = Number of Academic disciplines
Ni = The number of candidates present in the i^{th}academic discipline, β±― i = 1,2,3,……g.
The percentage of candidates eligible for shortlist for any i^{th} academic discipline will be as per details mentioned in Table – 2.

Thus M_{ij}is the number of candidates in i^{th} Academic discipline of j^{th} categoryβ±― I = 1,2,3…gβ±―_{j} = E,T, C, O. This implies

 Finally the number of candidates shortlisted for GD and PI will be based on the following parameters:
IIM Shillongwill decide the total number of candidates to be shortlisted for the GD and PI process. The value of x will be decided based on the overall performance of the candidates in CAT 2020, the number of seats available, buffer for possible overlap and attendance trends in the past.
With X= Number of candidates to be called for GD and PI the number of candidates to be shortlisted for interview in any category j will be X_{j},β±― j = E,T, C,O, where

Each cell in Table 4 will be further divided into subgroups on the basis of proportion of gender appearing in CAT2020, viz., X_{E1}=∑πX_{E1}, where, π represents the genders appearing in CAT2020, and, πΏ = ∑ππΏπ , number of students to be invited for GD and PI.
The candidates in a given category, academic discipline and gender would be ranked based on decreasing order of their CAT overall percentile.
Key Details of Phase 2: Merit Listing for Admission Offer to PGP 202123 Batch
After the completion of the GD and PI rounds, the scores achieved in the GD and PI will be used along with overall CAT performance of the shortlisted candidates for compilation of the final merit list. Offer for admissions will be made based on this merit list. The scores used will thus be

which will further be normalized as Nx , Ny and Nz for preparation of the final merit list. This process is illustrated below.
With a total of π number of candidates will appearing in the GD and PI process, an overall score, πππ for every appearing candidate π, will be calculated using the following formula, which will be used for preparing the merit list:

w_{2} : Weight of performance of the candidate π in ππ(50%)

However, there will be different cutoff scores for candidate’s performance in GD and PI in various categoriesas shown in Table 5.

The candidates will be ranked based on the decreasing order of the πππ scores. The admission offers will be made to the candidates in order of their rank based on the πππ scores.
Reservation Policy
The Institute abides by the reservation policy as per the Government of India provisions as applicable on IIM Shillong.
Important Points to Note:
 Those candidates who are given final admission to the PGP 20212023 will have to submit original documents related to completion of graduation before 31^{st} December 2021.
 IIM Shillong reserves the right to make changes in the Shortlisting and Selection Criteria if required.
 After the completion of the GD PI process, candidates can view their final result of the admission status in the second week of May 2021.
