Overall Brief

On the whole the level of the test was easy to moderate. The test contained many moderate and difficult questions and hence the important factor was selection of appropriate questions to attempt. Reasoning section was easier than Quant section. Verbal section was easy to moderate. The key to getting a good percentile was time management and selection of questions.

Verbal Ability
Easy Questions: 1-4, 6-7, 9-13, 18, 22, 24

The first RC (4-7) based on ‘perceptions & implications of spices on European voyagers & people. The passage was easy to understand and questions were all easy except Q5, which was difficult. The second passage (10-13) based on ‘analysis & implication of reviewing academic journals from peers & other sources’ was easy to understand & questions based on it were all easy. The third passage (14-17) based on ‘critical analysis of unintended & secondary effects of major technical & industrial advances’ was slightly tricky to understand and questions based on it were also moderate. The fourth passage (18-21) based on ‘drivers of attack by carnivores on humans’ was an interesting read and questions based on it were also tricky except Q18, which was easy. The questions (1, 3, & 24) based on summary were easy except Q3, which was moderate. The questions (2, 9, &24) based on best-fit were again easy except Q23, which was moderate. The questions (8 & 22) based on misfit were difficult & easy respectively. Overall feel of the section was easy to moderate. One could have easily scored 90+ percentile by attempting 18-20 questions with 75-80% accuracy.

DI & Reasoning
Easy Questions: 25-31, 35-42

The difficulty level of DI was easy. There was 15 easy, 4medium and 3difficult questions in this section. The two blocks (The numbers 1, 2, 3, 4,5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 are placed in ten slots of the following grid based question & an online e-commerce firm receives daily integer product ratings from 1 through 5 given by buyers) were easy and should have been attempted. In this section, one could have fetched 90+ percentile by attempting15-18 questions with approx. 80 % accuracy.

Quantitative Ability
Easy Questions: 48-52 ,54, 55, 58, 62, 63, 65

Students found this section moderate. The Quantitative section had 11 easy, 7 medium and 4 difficult questions. Selection of questions was important to crack this section. There were questions from varied topics like Geometry, Basic Numbers, Basic Algebra, Progression And Series, Arithmetic (Percentages/Time aWork/Mixtures/Percentages/Allgation/Ratios). A good student could have scored 90+ percentile by attempting around 12-14 questions with approx. 85% accuracy.

Strategy & Tips

The overall feel of the paper was easy to moderate, and for the students who knew how to manage the time available to the best i.e., not wasting much time in lengthy and difficult questions, could easily manage an overall good attempt. Reasoning section was easier than Quant section. Verbal section was easy to moderate. Most of the questions in quant section were from Arithmetic, Algebra, Number system and Geometry. For verbal section, one should have good reading speed & comprehension skills as there were 4 RCs based on different areas and also a few questions based on paragraph summary. One must focus on contextual vocabulary to understand and score well in passages& summary. Questions such as misfit, sentence rearrangement, &Best-fit require analysis and knowledge of tricks to answer the questions. It is not advisable to spend too much time on TITA questions especially in the verbal section.
