TAPMI ADMISSION PROCESS: DETAILED INFORMATION
In case of TAPMI, some MBA programs may have extra options for components to choose from based on the particular requirements. Each program's shortlist and merit list are different from each other and work on their own. Further, a shortlisting or selection in one program does not automatically result in a shortlisting or selection in another (for candidates applying to more than one program).
The Admission Process below explains the standard procedure used by all programs and is divided into the following stages:
STAGE I: SHORTLISTING
The applicants will be selected based on their acceptable scores from the CAT (Common Admission Test) 2022, the XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test) 2023, the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) January 1, 2018–January 31, 2023, or the NMAT by GMAC 2022, whichever score is more excellent.
  • Candidates have the option of submitting multiple test scores.
  • In addition to a candidate's high score on a test, TAPMI also looks at the candidate's complete profile. For instance, factors considered during the shortlisting process are the academic profile (10th, 12th, and graduation marks), work experience, extra-curricular achievements, sporting achievements, contribution to social activities, entrepreneurial spirit, diversity, potential leadership, and values.
  • The cut-off score for each program's entrance exam may change moderately from year to year, depending on the profile of applicants and how well their profiles fit the program (s).
  • The students will receive the shortlist decision on the registered email address.

STAGE II: SELECTION ROUNDS
Phase two of the TAPMI admissions procedure includes an MGD (moderated group discussion) and a personal interview (PI).
  1. MODERATED GROUP DISCUSSION (MGD): Candidates are evaluated on their ability to contribute to a group conversation in a regulated setting. Problem-solving, self-assurance, assertiveness, persuasion, teamwork, and communication abilities are also considered in the MGD assessment.
  2. Personal Interview (PI): Through the PI, TAPMI assesses the applicant's general outlook on and readiness for a career in management education, taking into account factors including the candidate's level of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, leadership, and communication.
NOTE: Every year, TAPMI revises the MGD/PI procedure as necessary to ensure that only the most qualified individuals are chosen. The institute will communicate all the changes made to the admissions procedure between 2023 and 2025, if any, to all the shortlisted candidates on time.
