IIFT 2023 Preparation: Approach & Strategy
After you have a complete understanding of the IIFT exam syllabus and the exam pattern, the next step is to create an appropriate study schedule for the Preparation of the IIFT 2023 exam. The majority of applicants start their preparations anywhere from three to six months before the exam. The following are some technical pointers that will assist you in excelling in all of the IIFT's sections:
  • To get started, you should work on improving your fundamentals. Although you must be already familiar with the basics of math, reasoning, and grammar, you will need to develop a stronger foundation if you want to ace the test.
  • You can also sign up for online coaching to accelerate your preparation.
  • Form a habit of reading stuff like newspapers, magazines, and other sources of similar nature on a regular basis. This will prepare you with the necessary skills for the verbal section and help you brush up on your general knowledge for the general test.
  • After reviewing the significant grammatical rules and mathematical formulae, the next step is to begin practising the section-specific tests arranged according to their respective topics.
  • Although there are no set rules for DI and reasoning problems, they are however quite challenging to do. As a result, practising these questions from Previous year papers and Sample papers is always a smart idea. Since LR and DI problems might have many various forms on the exam, you must attempt a range of them.
  • After you have a solid understanding of the necessary sections of the IIFT curriculum, you should examine the papers from the previous year to familiarise yourself with the types of questions and topics most frequently evaluated.
  • As a last step, you should begin to evaluate how well you have prepared by completing full-length practise exams online and attempting Mock tests. Make sure that you practise shortcut approaches and other smart strategies so that you can do computations more quickly. If you take sufficient practise exams, you'll eventually be able to figure out which approach to test-taking method works best for you.
IIFT Analysis:
IIFT Analysis examines the modifications to the overall and sectional IIFT exam format. It also gives projections on IIFT cut-offs, among other things, to guide test takers in assessing their performance for the IIFT 2023.
In addition, the IIFT Analysis predicts how the level of difficulty of the test will proceed between now and 2023.
Section I: Quantitative Reasoning
This is the most difficult section of the test, and the questions are significantly longer than the others. Arithmetic (8–10), Algebra (6), Geometry and Mensuration (4), and the rest of the questions based on probability, clocks and calendars, height and distance, and numbers. The questions range in difficulty from easy to difficult. There are only one or two straightforward questions that can be answered, and the other ones are rather complicated. The general feeling of this section is challenging.
Section II: Verbal Ability And Reading Comprehension
The RCs range in difficulty from easy to moderate. Four passages with four questions each are often included. There are two easy to moderate portions and two moderate to difficult passages. The sections typically focus on topics like "subconscious mind & behaviour," "geopolitical power shifting," "globalisation," and "product cycles." Several passages can be easily solved by students in the allotted time. Vocabulary is given a lot of weight on the Verbal Ability section of the test. The questions are based on activities like matching words to their definitions, crossword puzzles, root words, idioms and phrases, spellings, and direct vocabulary, among others. This portion has a straightforward overall vibe.
Section III: Data Interpretation And Logical Reasoning
LR & DI section is easier. Questions are based on all of the usual types that are used in IIFT and include things like tables, stacked data, pie charts, and so on. One has the option of choosing which block of logical reasoning problems they want to work on by virtue of the fact that each block has a few questions but a limited amount of information. Questions based on conventional lines of reasoning, such as coding and decoding, blood relations, and similar topics could appear, as they did the year before. In the reasoning phase of the test, every question relies on some form of logical and analytical reasoning.
Section IV: General Awareness
Questions in the General Awareness section include a broad range of topics and are aimed at evaluating the candidate in all relevant domains. Questions about current and static GK are included in this section. The general tone of the GK section is one of moderation.
